These documents are simply for convenience when dealing with government offices or local institutions, such as applying for a driver’s license, visiting hospitals, and other administrative purposes.

Required Documents

• Passport
  For foreigners, the passport must be valid and accompanied by a legal visa — preferably a long-term visa or Non-O visa or higher.

• Copy of House Registration and ID Card of the House Owner
  From the property where the foreigner wishes to be added.

• If the foreigner owns a condominium
  Provide proof of ownership, such as the property title deed or purchase agreement.

Steps to Obtain the Yellow House Registration Book (Tabien Baan – Yellow Book)

1. Apply at:
   • The District Office (สำนักงานเขต) in Bangkok, or
   • The District (อำเภอ) office in other provinces.
2. Required Presence:
   • The house owner
   • The foreign applicant
3. Witnesses:
   • At least two witnesses who can verify and confirm the foreigner’s identity.
   • An interview will usually be conducted.
4. Processing Time:
   • Within 30 days

Next Step: Apply for the Pink ID Card

After receiving the Yellow House Book, the foreigner can immediately apply for the Pink ID Card (Alien Identification Card).
Processing time: approximately 15 minutes.

This card provides a 13-digit ID number (starting with 6, 7, 8, or 9).
It serves as an official identification within Thailand — useful for opening a bank account, doing legal or financial transactions, etc.
