ขอใบรับรองโสด: ฝ่ายชายไปขอใบรับรองโสดที่สถานทูตของประเทศตัวเองในไทย (ยกเว้น อเมริกา อังกฤษ นอร์เวย์ และอื่นๆ)

แปลและรับรอง: นำพาสปอร์ตและใบรับรองโสดไปแปลเป็นภาษาไทย จากนั้นนำไปรับรองคำแปลที่ กรมการกงสุล

จดทะเบียนที่อำเภอ: จูงมือกันไปที่ที่ว่าการอำเภอหรือสำนักงานเขต พร้อมพยาน 2 คน เพื่อจดทะเบียนสมรสได้เลย (ไม่ต้องรอตรวจประวัตินานหลายเดือนเหมือนในต่างประเทศ)

✅ Easily Switch Visas if Needed: A Retirement Visa requires a relatively high financial buffer (800,000 THB). If your financial situation changes in the future, having a marriage certificate allows you to switch to a Marriage NON-O Visa, which cuts the financial requirement in half (to 400,000 THB).

For the Foreign Spouse

• Original Passport
• Affidavit of Freedom to Marry

For the Thai Spouse

• Thai ID Card
• House Registration Book (Tabien Baan)
• 2 Witnesses (1 Interpreter)

Get the Affidavit: The foreign spouse obtains an “Affidavit of Freedom to Marry” from their respective embassy in Bangkok. (Except: US, UK, Norway, etc.)

Translate and Certify: Translate the passport and affidavit into Thai, then have them certified at the Department of Consular Affairs (MFA).

Register at the District Office: Head to any local district office (Amphur or Khet) with your two witnesses to register the marriage. (Unlike in many Western countries, there is no months-long background check process here).
