แม้ว่าวีซ่า Non-O จะอนุมัติแล้ว แต่วีซ่าจะยังไม่มีผลในขณะที่เราอยู่ในประเทศไทย

เหตุผลคืออะไร? เพราะตอนที่เราเดินผ่านด่านตรวจคนเข้าเมือง (ตม.) เจ้าหน้าที่ได้ประทับตราเข้าประเทศให้เราในสถานะ “ฟรีวีซ่า” ไปเรียบร้อยแล้ว ซึ่งตราประทับนี้คือสถานะปัจจุบันของเรา ไม่ใช่ Non-O

💡 วิธีเปิดใช้งานวีซ่า NON-O ที่ถูกต้อง:

1. ต้องเดินทางออกนอกประเทศไทยก่อน: จะไปประเทศเพื่อนบ้านหรือประเทศไหนก็ได้

2. เดินทางกลับเข้าไทยใหม่อีกครั้ง: ตอนผ่านด่าน ตม. ให้แสดงเอกสารวีซ่า NON-O ที่ได้รับทางอีเมล (จะปริ้นท์ใส่กระดาษหรือเปิดโชว์จากมือถือก็ได้)

3. รับตราประทับใหม่: เจ้าหน้าที่ ตม. จะเปลี่ยนมาประทับตราเข้าเมืองเป็นสถานะ NON-O ให้คุณอย่างถูกต้องครับ

เป้าหมายหลักของหลายๆ คนที่ขอวีซ่า Non-O คือการนำไปใช้ เปิดบัญชีธนาคารในไทย เพื่อเตรียมยื่นเรื่องขออยู่ต่อระยะยาวแบบ 1 ปี

ที่สำคัญคือ วีซ่า Non-O ประเภทนี้ “ไม่สามารถ” ยื่นสมัครจากภายในประเทศไทยได้ เงื่อนไขคือต้องยื่นคำขอจากประเทศที่คุณพำนักอยู่ก่อนออกเดินทางเท่านั้น

ปกติแล้วการพิจารณาวีซ่า Non-O ผ่านระบบออนไลน์จะใช้เวลาประมาณ 2–3 สัปดาห์

เพื่อความปลอดภัยและไม่ให้ทริปสะดุด แนะนำให้ กดส่งใบสมัครล่วงหน้าอย่างน้อย 1 เดือน ก่อนวันเดินทางจริง

กรณีนี้จะตรงข้ามกับกรณีแรก หากวีซ่า Non-O ได้รับการอนุมัติเรียบร้อยแล้ว “ก่อนที่เราจะออกเดินทาง” เรา จำเป็นต้องใช้วีซ่า Non-O นั้นเดินทางเข้าไทยทันที จะขอเก็บไว้ใช้ทีหลังแล้วใช้สิทธิ์ฟรีวีซ่าก่อนไม่ได้เด็ดขาด

เหตุผลคือ: เมื่อวีซ่าอนุมัติแล้ว ข้อมูลทั้งหมดจะถูกซิงค์เข้าสู่ระบบของสำนักงานตรวจคนเข้าเมืองทันที ดังนั้น ด่านตม.จะปั๊มเข้าไทยแบบ Non-O ให้โดยอัตโนมัติ
(ยกเว้นตม.ไม่เห็น หรือผิดพลาดเอง)

Even if your NON-O visa is approved, it will not start working automatically while you are inside Thailand.

Why? Because when you passed through Immigration, the officer stamped your passport as “Visa-Free” (such as a 60-day stamp). This stamp is your current legal status in Thailand, not the NON-O visa.

💡 How to activate your NON-O visa:

1. Leave Thailand first: You can travel to a neighboring country or anywhere outside Thailand.

2. Fly or travel back into Thailand: At the Immigration checkpoint, show the NON-O visa document that you received via email (you can print it out or show it on your phone).

3. Get a new stamp: The Immigration officer will then stamp your passport with the NON-O status.

The main reason people need a NON-O visa is to open a Thai bank account, which is required to apply for a long-term 1-year extension.

Most importantly, you cannot apply for this type of NON-O visa from inside Thailand. You must apply from your home country or the country you are living in before you travel.

Normally, the online NON-O visa process takes about 2–3 weeks.

To be safe and avoid any problems, it is highly recommended to submit your application at least 1 month before your travel date.

This is the opposite of the first scenario. If your NON-O visa is approved “before you leave your country,” you must use the NON-O visa to enter Thailand. You cannot save it for later and try to enter with Visa-Free first.

Why? Once your visa is approved, the data is already linked to the Thai Immigration system. Therefore, you must use it on your very first entry into Thailand.
