ไปลาวก็จริง แต่ต้องยื่น “ออนไลน์” เหมือนเดิมนะ!

อย่าเข้าใจผิดว่าต้องหอบเอกสารกระดาษไปต่อคิวส่งที่สถานทูตไทยในลาวตั้งแต่เริ่ม เพราะตอนนี้การขอวีซ่าที่ลาวก็ต้องใช้ระบบ ThaieVisa (ออนไลน์) เหมือนกัน คือต้องกรอกข้อมูลผ่านเว็บให้เรียบร้อยก่อน แล้วค่อยเดินทางไปลาวเพื่อดำเนินการขั้นต่อไป

4 จุดต่างสำคัญ (ถ้ากรอกผิด… ชีวิตเปลี่ยน!)

ตอนกรอกข้อมูลในระบบ ThaieVisa เพื่อไปยื่นที่ลาว จะมีจุดที่ต่างจากการยื่นที่ประเทศตัวเอง ดังนี้:

1️⃣ Location (สถานที่ยื่น): ต้องเลือกเป็น “Laos” และเลือกสถานทูตที่สะดวก (ส่วนใหญ่เลือก เวียงจันทน์ เพราะเดินทางง่ายที่สุด)

2️⃣ Current Address (ที่อยู่ปัจจุบัน): ห้ามใส่ที่อยู่ประเทศตัวเอง! ระบบต้องการ “ที่อยู่ในลาว” ให้ใส่ชื่อและที่อยู่ของโรงแรมหรือที่พักในลาวที่เราจะไปนอนรอวีซ่าได้เลย (ส่วนช่อง Permanent Address หรือที่อยู่ถาวร ค่อยใส่ที่อยู่ประเทศตัวเองตามปกติ)

3️⃣ ใช้เอกสารประเทศตัวเองได้ไหม?: “ใช้ได้” ไม่ว่าจะเป็น Statement ธนาคาร, ใบรับรองรายได้, เอกสารเกษียณ หรือทะเบียนสมรส แต่! ต้องเป็นภาษาไทยหรือภาษาอังกฤษเท่านั้น (ถ้าเป็นภาษาท้องถิ่น เช่น เยอรมัน ฝรั่งเศส ต้องแปลให้เรียบร้อยก่อน)

4️⃣ “ตราประทับเข้าลาว”: เหตุผลที่เราต้องวาร์ปไปลาวจริงๆ เพราะระบบต้องการให้เราอัปโหลดภาพถ่าย “ตราประทับเข้าเมืองลาว” หรือ “วีซ่าลาว” เพื่อเป็นหลักฐานว่าเราสแตนด์บายอยู่ที่ลาวแล้วนั่นเอง

ถ้าขอจากประเทศตัวเอง ส่วนใหญ่จะตัดบัตรจ่ายเงินออนไลน์ได้เลย

แต่ถ้าขอผ่านลาว: พอกดส่งใบสมัครในเว็บ ระบบจะออก “ใบนัดหมาย” มาให้เรา เพื่อให้เราถือใบนี้ไปจ่ายเงินสดที่สถานทูตไทยในลาว

⚠️ ข้อควรระวัง: ส่วนงานวีซ่าที่เวียงจันทน์มักจะแยกจุดบริการออกมา คนมักไปผิดที่กัน ให้ยึดที่อยู่ตามในใบนัด และเปิดรับยื่น/จ่ายเงินเฉพาะช่วงเช้า (เช่น 10.00 – 12.00 น.) ใครที่กะจะไปเช้า-เย็นกลับ บอกเลยว่าเสี่ยงมาก ควรเผื่อเวลาเดินทางดีๆ หรือไปค้างคืนจะปลอดภัยที่สุด

ปกติจะใช้เวลาพิจารณาประมาณ 7-10 วันทำการ

หลังจากชำระเงินที่สถานทูตแล้ว จะกลับมารอฝั่งไทยก็ได้ถ้าเข้าไทยได้นะ และขยันเดินทาง

แต่แนะนำให้พักรออยู่ที่ลาวจนกว่าวีซ่าจะอนุมัติและส่งมาทางอีเมล แล้วจึงเดินทางกลับเข้าไทยใหม่จะสะดวกกว่า

ยื่นจากประเทศตัวเอง แต่บินมารอในไทย

ถ้าใครยังไม่ได้บินมาไทย หรือเพิ่งยื่นขอวีซ่าออนไลน์จากประเทศตัวเองไปไม่กี่วัน แล้วกลัววีซ่าออกไม่ทันวันเดินทาง… มีทริคแบบนี้:

ขั้นแรก: บินเข้าไทยด้วยฟรีวีซ่ามาก่อนได้เลย

ขั้นที่สอง: รอผลวีซ่าอนุมัติส่งเข้าอีเมล อยู่ในไทยนี่แหละ (ไม่ต้องไปนอนรอที่ลาว)

ขั้นที่สาม: พอวีซ่าผ่านแล้ว ค่อยนั่งรถหรือบินออกไปประเทศเพื่อนบ้านสั้นๆ (เช่น ลาว, เวียดนาม มาเลเซีย) แล้วกลับเข้าไทยมาใหม่ โดยยื่นเอกสารวีซ่า Non-O ที่ได้ทางอีเมลให้ ตม. ประทับตราให้… วิธีนี้ก็ช่วยประหยัดเวลาและไม่ต้องไปนั่งลุ้นที่ลาวหลายวัน!

วิธีนี้ใช้ก็ต่อเมื่อเร่งด่วนจริงๆ อาจจะซื้อตั๋วไว้แล้ว ขอวีซ่าไว้แล้วแต่วีซ่ายังไม่ออก เป็นเหตุสุดวิสัยจริงๆเท่านั้น เพราะสถานทูตอาจมีการตรวจสอบว่าผู้ยื่นยังอยู่ในประเทศตัวเองจริงหรือไม่ เช่น ให้ถ่ายรูปพาสปอร์ตทุกหน้า ก็จะรู้เลยว่าเข้าไทยมาแล้ว ห้ามจงใจทำเพื่อความสะดวกส่วนตัว

ดังนั้นวิธีที่ดีที่สุด คือ ขอวีซ่า Non-O ออนไลน์จากประเทศตัวเองก่อนเดินทางมาไทยตั้งแต่เนิ่นๆ ล่วงหน้าอย่างน้อย 3สัปดาห์ก่อนเดินทางก็จะช่วยให้การเริ่มต้นชีวิตในไทยง่ายขึ้น

Many people misunderstand that they have to carry all physical paper documents to submit at the embassy. In reality, applying for a Non-O Visa in Laos still uses the ThaieVisa system.

This means you must fill out the information online through the website first, then travel into Laos to proceed with the remaining steps.

1️⃣ You Must Select “Laos” as the Location When filling out the ThaieVisa application, there will be fields to select your passport country and your Location. If you apply from your home country (e.g., France, Germany, UK), you select your home country in the Location field. But if you are going to submit via Laos, you must change the Location to “Laos”. This is because the system will recognize that you are applying through the Thai Embassy in Laos, not in your home country. The next field requires you to select the embassy in Laos, such as Vientiane or Savannakhet (most people choose Vientiane because it is more convenient to travel to).

2️⃣ Current Address Must Be an Address in Laos Another common mistake is the “Current Address” field. If applying from your home country, you would fill in your regular home address. But if applying through Laos, the system requires your “Current Address in Laos”. Therefore, most people use the address of the hotel or accommodation in Laos where they will be staying. As for the Permanent Address, it remains your regular home country address.

3️⃣ Documents from Your Home Country Can Still Be Used, But Must Be in English or Thai Whether it is a Bank Statement, Income Certificate, Retirement Documents, Marriage Certificate, or other documents, you can still use them from your home country. However, they must be in English or Thai. If you apply from your home country, some embassies might accept local languages (like German, French, or Swedish). But if you apply in Laos, they must be translated into English or Thai beforehand. Preparing the translations before traveling will help prevent many issues.

4️⃣ The Laos Entry Stamp

The main reason you actually have to travel into Laos is that the system requires proof that you are already inside Laos. After entering Laos, you will receive:

• An Entry Stamp
• A Laos Visa (done at the border or applied for online)

You must then take these documents and upload them into the ThaieVisa system. This is critical because if you haven’t actually entered Laos yet, you won’t have these documents to upload.

Normally, when applying for a ThaieVisa from your home country, you can usually pay online immediately.

However, in the case of applying through Laos, after you click submit, the system will issue a document similar to an appointment slip instead. You are then required to go pay the fee at the embassy or the designated payment point as specified.

The address will be clearly stated in the document. You should look at it carefully because in Vientiane, the visa section is located at a separate point. Another thing to be careful about is that the submission hours are usually limited—such as 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM. Therefore, those planning a same-day round trip must plan their travel carefully. Some people have to travel overnight just to make it in time for the submission slot.

Most cases take about 7 days. Some might be faster, while others could take up to 10 days. Therefore, safe planning would be to buffer about 7–10 days. If your Thai Visa Exemption has already expired, you may need to stay and wait in Laos until the visa is approved and sent via email before traveling back into Thailand.

Applying from Your Home Country, But Waiting in Thailand

If you haven’t flown to Thailand yet, or just submitted your online visa application from home a few days ago, and you are worried that the visa won’t be issued in time for your flight… here is a trick you can use:

• Step 1: Fly into Thailand using the Visa Exemption (Free Visa) first.
• Step 2: Wait for your visa approval email while you are inside Thailand (no need to go and wait in Laos).
• Step 3: Once your visa is approved, take a short trip out to a neighboring country (such as Laos, Vietnam, or Malaysia) and then re-enter Thailand. Show your approved Non-O Visa document (received via email) to Immigration at the border to get your entry stamp. This method saves time and spares you from waiting anxiously in Laos for days!

⚠️ Crucial Warning: This method should only be used in real emergencies—such as when you have already bought your flight tickets and applied for the visa, but it hasn’t been issued yet due to unforeseen circumstances. Do not intentionally do this just for personal convenience.

Embassies may check whether the applicant is still physically in their home country. For example, if they ask you to upload a photo of every single page of your passport, they will instantly see that you have already entered Thailand.

Therefore, the best way is always to apply for your online Non-O Visa from your home country well in advance—at least 3 weeks before your trip. This will ensure a smooth and easy start to your life in Thailand.
