จดหมายเชิญคืออะไร จำเป็นไหม?
จดหมายเชิญ ไม่ใช่เอกสารภาคบังคับ แต่เป็นเอกสารสนับสนุนที่มีประโยชน์มาก โดยเฉพาะเมื่อต้องขอวีซ่า หรือถูกเจ้าหน้าที่ตรวจคนเข้าเมืองสอบถาม
โดยทั่วไปมักใช้ประกอบการขอวีซ่าประเภท
- Tourist Visa (TR)
- Non-Immigrant O (NON-O)
- Destination Thailand Visa (DTV)
หมายเหตุ: บางช่วงสถานทูตอาจบังคับใช้ บางช่วงไม่บังคับ และบางครั้งไม่ได้แจ้งไว้ในรายการเอกสาร แต่จะร้องขอภายหลัง ดังนั้น แนะนำให้เตรียมจดหมายเชิญเผื่อไว้เสมอ

- ใช้เป็นเอกสารประกอบการขอวีซ่า แม้สถานทูตจะไม่ได้ระบุไว้ชัดเจน
- ใช้ยืนยัน ที่อยู่ในประเทศไทย ของชาวต่างชาติ โดยแนบคู่กับ
- สำเนาบัตรประชาชนผู้เชิญ
- สำเนาทะเบียนบ้านผู้เชิญ
- ใช้แสดงต่อเจ้าหน้าที่ตรวจคนเข้าเมือง (ตม.) กรณีถูกสอบถามเรื่องที่พักในไทย
- ยืนยันว่าผู้เชิญชาวไทย รับทราบและยินยอม ต่อการเดินทางเข้าประเทศของชาวต่างชาติ
- ใช้ชี้แจงความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างผู้เชิญกับชาวต่างชาติ และเหตุผลในการเชิญ
⬩➤ หลักการเขียนจดหมายเชิญ ▼
1. รูปแบบไม่ตายตัว เขียนง่าย ๆ ขอเพียงอ่านเข้าใจ และมีข้อมูลครบถ้วน ได้แก่
- ข้อมูลผู้เชิญชาวไทย
- ข้อมูลชาวต่างชาติ
- ระยะเวลาที่พำนัก
- วัตถุประสงค์ในการเชิญ
2. เขียนเป็น ภาษาไทย หรือภาษาอังกฤษ ก็ได้
- ข้อมูลต้องตรงกับบัตรประชาชน และพาสปอร์ต
- เขียนให้ชัดเจน อ่านง่าย หรือพิมพ์แล้วเซ็นชื่อ
3. เอกสารที่ควรแนบ
- สำเนาบัตรประชาชนผู้เชิญ
- สำเนาทะเบียนบ้าน (หน้าแรก + หน้าที่มีชื่อผู้เชิญ)
4. การระบุความสัมพันธ์
- แฟน: boyfriend / girlfriend หรือ partner
- คู่สมรส: husband / wife หรือ spouse

How to Write an Invitation Letter for a Foreigner to Stay in Thailand
(For visa application purposes or to present to Thai Immigration officers)
Is an Invitation Letter Required?
An invitation letter is not compulsory, but it is often requested for the following visa types:
- Destination Thailand Visa (DTV)
- Tourist Visa (TR)
- Non-Immigrant O Visa (NON-O)
In some periods, Thai embassies may require it, while in others they may not list it but request it later.
For this reason, preparing an invitation letter in advance is highly recommended.
⬩➤ Why an Invitation Letter Is Useful ▼
- Supports a Thai visa application, even if not listed in the required documents
- Confirms the foreigner’s address in Thailand, together with:
- A copy of the Thai host’s ID card
- A copy of the Thai host’s house registration
- Can be shown to Thai Immigration officers if asked about accommodation
- Confirms that the Thai host is aware of and agrees to the foreigner’s stay
- Explains the relationship between the host and the foreign visitor
⬩➤ Basic Guidelines for Writing an Invitation Letter ▼
1. There is no fixed format. The letter should be simple, clear, and easy to understand
It should include:
- Thai host’s personal details
- Foreigner’s personal details
- Length of stay and travel dates
- Purpose of the visit
2. The letter:
- can be written in Thai or English, matching the information on:
- Thai ID card
- Foreigner’s passport
- may be handwritten or typed, but must be signed by the host
3. Supporting documents to attach:
- Copy of Thai ID card
- Copy of house registration (first page and page showing the host’s name)
4. Relationship Terms (Recommended)
- Boyfriend / Girlfriend or Partner
- Husband / Wife or Spouse
