Many people mistakenly think that once a hotel submits the TM30, they are good to go. Here is why that is wrong:
🔸 Moving means your data is outdated: The moment you check out and move back to your house or condo, the Immigration system still shows you are at the hotel. Since you are no longer there, your address on file is now incorrect.
🔸 Hotels only cover your stay with them: When you check in, the hotel reports your stay only for the dates you are at their property.

❗ Wrong Immigration Office Jurisdiction: When you go to extend your visa, get a re-entry permit, or request a Certificate of Residence, Immigration looks at your last TM30 location. You will be forced to go to the Immigration office that covers the hotel’s area, not your home’s area.
❗ Fines: You will likely be fined between 800 to 2,000 Baht (depending on the officer’s discretion).
❗ Note: Some people claim they haven’t reported in 10 years without any issues. That is only because they haven’t visited an Immigration office yet. The moment they do, the problem pops up and fines are issued.
