เช่น ฟรีวีซ่า (Visa Exemption) และ วีซ่าท่องเที่ยว (Tourist Visa)

• ควรมีตั๋วเครื่องบินขาออกจากประเทศไทย
• หากไม่มี อาจมีปัญหาทั้งตอนเช็กอินและตอนผ่าน ตม.
• แต่ไม่เสมอไป ขึ้นกับเคส และการให้เหตุผลของผู้เดินทาง

วีซ่าระยะยาว

เช่น Non-O ทุกประเภท, Non-B, DTV ฯลฯ

• ไม่จำเป็นต้องมีตั๋วเครื่องบินขากลับ
• เนื่องจากเป็นวีซ่าที่อนุญาตให้อยู่ในไทยระยะยาว
• ในทางปฏิบัติ สายการบินส่วนใหญ่ก็ไม่สามารถขายตั๋วขากลับล่วงหน้าเกิน 6–8 เดือน ได้อยู่แล้ว

ตั๋วเครื่องบินขากลับ ต้องกลับประเทศเดิมไหม?

• ตั๋วกลับประเทศต้นทาง
• หรือตั๋วไปประเทศที่สาม

ถ้าไม่มีตั๋วเครื่องบินขากลับ จะเกิดอะไรขึ้นได้บ้าง?

1. ปัญหาจากสายการบิน

• สายการบินมีสิทธิ์ ปฏิเสธไม่ให้ขึ้นเครื่องตั้งแต่ต้นทาง
• พบได้บ่อยในกรณี ฟรีวีซ่า
• เหตุผลคือ หากผู้โดยสารถูก ตม.ไทยปฏิเสธเข้าเมือง
  สายการบินต้องรับผิดชอบค่าใช้จ่ายในการส่งกลับ

2. ปัญหาจาก ตม.ไทย

• ผู้ที่เข้าด้วย วีซ่าระยะสั้น อาจถูกสอบถามว่า
  “ทำไมไม่มีตั๋วออกจากประเทศไทย”
• อาจถูกมองว่า
  • มีเจตนาอยู่เกินกำหนด
  • หรือมีแนวโน้มมาทำงาน
• มีความเสี่ยงถูก ปฏิเสธการเข้าเมือง (Denied Entry)

3. กรณีวีซ่าระยะยาว

• โดยทั่วไป ไม่มีปัญหาเรื่องตั๋วขากลับ
• ตม.เข้าใจว่าเป็นการพำนักระยะยาวตามสิทธิของวีซ่า

(สำหรับฟรีวีซ่า และวีซ่าท่องเที่ยว)

ซื้อตั๋วขาออกก่อนเดินทางมาไทย

ตัวเลือกที่นิยม ได้แก่

• ตั๋วเครื่องบินที่สามารถเลื่อนวันหรือยกเลิกได้
  (ควรตรวจสอบเงื่อนไขก่อนซื้อ)
• ตั๋วเครื่องบินราคาประหยัดไปประเทศเพื่อนบ้าน
  (เวียดนาม ลาว มาเลเซีย ฯลฯ)

กรณีอยากเสี่ยง และยังไม่ได้ซื้อตั๋วล่วงหน้า

• เช็กราคาตั๋วไปประเทศเพื่อนบ้านในแอปไว้ก่อน
• หากสายการบินหรือ ตม. แจ้งว่าจำเป็นต้องมีตั๋วขาออก
  • ขอออกจากแถวชั่วคราว
  • ซื้อตั๋วผ่านแอปทันที
  • นำหลักฐานกลับมาแสดง

วิธีนี้มีคนทำได้จริง แต่ ไม่แนะนำ หากต้องการเดินทางแบบสบายใจ

Short-term visas

Such as Visa Exemption and Tourist Visa

• A return or onward ticket is strongly recommended
• Not having one may cause problems at check-in or at Thai immigration

Long-term visas

Such as Non-O (all types), Non-B, DTV, etc.

• A return ticket is generally NOT required
• These visas allow long-term stay in Thailand
• In practice, airlines usually do not sell return tickets more than 6–8 months in advance anyway

Does the Return Ticket Have to Be Back to the Home Country?

No.
A return or onward ticket does not need to be back to the country of origin.

It can be:

• A return ticket to the home country, or
• An onward ticket to a third country
  (e.g. Vietnam, Laos, Malaysia, Singapore, etc.)

What Can Happen If You Don’t Have a Return Ticket?

1. Airline Issues

• Airlines have the right to deny boarding at the departure airport
• This happens most often with visa exemption travelers
• Reason: if a passenger is denied entry by Thai immigration,
  the airline is responsible for flying them back

2. Thai Immigration Issues

• Travelers entering with short-term visas may be questioned about:
  “Why do you not have a ticket leaving Thailand?”
• Officers may suspect:
  • Intent to overstay, or
  • Intent to work illegally
• There is a risk of Denied Entry

3. Long-term Visa Holders

• Normally no issue with return tickets
• Immigration understands that long-term visa holders are allowed to stay for an extended period

The Safest Option

(For Visa Exemption & Tourist Visa travelers)

Buy an onward ticket before arriving in Thailand

Common options:

• A low-cost flight to a neighboring country
  (Vietnam, Laos, Malaysia, etc.)
• A ticket that allows date changes or cancellation
  (Always check the fare conditions before purchasing)

If You Choose to Take the Risk (No Ticket in Advance)

• Check prices for onward flights in airline or booking apps beforehand
• If the airline or immigration officer requires proof of onward travel:
  • Ask to step aside temporarily
  • Purchase the ticket on your phone immediately
  • Show the confirmation as proof

This has worked for some travelers, but it is not recommended if you want a stress-free journey.
