ชาวต่างชาติเข้าไทยฟรีวีซ่าได้กี่ครั้ง?
ต้องการอยู่ไทยนาน มีวิธีไหนได้บ้าง?

สำหรับผู้ถือพาสปอร์ตที่ได้รับยกเว้นวีซ่า ไม่มีระเบียบระบุไว้ชัดเจนว่าเข้าไทยได้ปีละกี่วัน แต่ถ้าต้องการความแน่นอน ปลอดภัยที่สุดคือ ไม่เกิน 180 วันต่อปี โดยแบ่งเป็น 2 ลักษณะหลักคือ

1. แบบเข้าออกบ่อย แต่อยู่ไม่นาน

  • อยู่ไทย 1-30 วัน โดยไม่มีการขออยู่ต่อ
  • เว้น 1-2 เดือน แล้วเข้ามาอีก
  • กรณีนี้ไม่จำเป็นต้องกังวล สามารถเข้าออกได้ตามปกติ

2. แบบอยู่ต่อเนื่องนานเต็มโควต้า

  • 60+30=90 วัน

⚠️วีซ่ารัน (Visa Run)

  • การเข้าไทยอยู่เต็มโควต้า แล้วออกจากไทยแค่วันเดียว หรือกลับเข้าไทยภายในวันเดียว ลักษณะแบบนี้เรียกกันเองว่า Visa Run
  • เพื่อไม่ให้ถูกมองว่าเป็น Visa Run ระหว่างครั้งแรกและครั้งที่สอง ควรอยู่นอกไทยอย่างน้อย 3 วัน (แต่เพื่อความปลอดภัยแนะนำ 7 วันขึ้นไป)
  • หากในปีนี้เคย “ขออยู่ต่อ” มาแล้ว 2 ครั้งต่อปี แล้วในปีเดียวกัน ได้กลับเข้าไทยใหม่โดยไม่มีเหตุผลที่น่าเชื่อถือ อาจถูก ปฏิเสธการเข้าประเทศ รวมถึงอาจถูกปฎิเสธการขออยู่ต่อและการเปลี่ยนประเภทวีซ่าด้วย

For passport holders who are eligible for Thailand’s visa exemption, there is no official rule that clearly limits how many days per year you can stay. However, for the safest and most predictable approach, it is recommended not to exceed 180 days per year.

There are two common patterns of stay:

1. Frequent entries, short stays

  • Stay in Thailand for 1–30 days without applying for an extension
  • Leave the country for 1-2 months. Then enter Thailand again
  • This pattern is generally low-risk and foreigners can usually enter and exit without issues.

2. Staying as long as possible in one visit

  • Visa exemption 60 days +30 days extension = 90 days

Once you reach this limit, it is considered your full quota for the year (based on the calendar year).

⚠️Visa Run

  • A “visa run” refers to leaving Thailand after staying for the full allowed quota and then re-entering the country on the same day or after only one day.
  • To avoid being flagged as doing a visa run, you should stay outside Thailand for at least 3 days between the first and second entry.
  • However, for safety, staying 7 days or more is recommended.
  • If you have already applied for an extension of stay twice within the same year, and then re-enter Thailand again without a convincing reason, you may face:
    • refusal of entry, and
    • potential refusal of future extensions or visa type changes

Note: Decisions depend mainly on the immigration officer’s discretion.

⚠️For changing visa type, you do not need 2 months of seasoning. The money only needs to be in the account when you apply.

If you do NOT have a Thai bank account

❌You cannot open a Thai bank account while holding only a visa exemption.

✅However, you may use an income certificate instead of a Thai bank account.

✅If you cannot obtain an income certificate and cannot open a Thai bank account,
then you must apply for a Non-O Visa online before traveling to Thailand.
