2. There are two ways to stay long-term in Thailand with a Non-O Marriage Visa

1. ) Convert your visa-exempt entry to a Non-O Marriage Visa inside Thailand
   ❗But the common problem is:
   • Foreigners who enter Thailand on a visa exemption usually cannot open a Thai bank account.
   • So they cannot show the required 400,000 THB in a Thai bank.
     
   • Using an income affidavit instead of the 400,000 THB is sometimes possible, but there are issues:
     • Immigration officers may not accept it because it’s hard to verify.
     • Some embassies no longer issue income affidavits; you may need to return to your home country to get one.
     • You may need translations and consular legalization.
       
   • ➠Apply for a Change of Visa Type to a Marriage Visa in Thailand

2. ) Apply for a Non-O Marriage Visa before entering Thailand (apply outside Thailand)
   • Leave Thailand first — either return to your home country or go to a nearby country such as Laos or Vietnam.
   • Apply for the Non-O Marriage Visa outside Thailand, then re-enter Thailand with this visa.
   • Once you enter Thailand with a Non-O visa:
