โดยทั่วไปแล้ว ชาวต่างชาติที่แต่งงานกับคนไทยจะขอ วีซ่า Non-O (ติดตามคู่สมรส) เพื่อเข้ามาอยู่ในประเทศไทย

• ข้อจำกัดสำคัญ: วีซ่า Non-O ที่ขอมาจากสถานทูตหรือสถานกงสุลไทยในต่างประเทศ มักจะเป็นประเภท Single Entry (เดินทางเข้าได้ครั้งเดียว)

• ความเสี่ยง: เมื่อใช้เดินทางเข้าไทยแล้ว สิทธิ์ของวีซ่าจะถูกใช้ไปทันที หากเดินทางออกนอกประเทศไทยโดยไม่ได้เตรียมการไว้ วีซ่า Non-O นั้นจะ “หมดอายุและถูกยกเลิกทันที”

หากสามีจำเป็นต้องเดินทางไปต่างประเทศระหว่างที่ถือวีซ่า Non-O หรือหลังจากยื่นต่ออายุวีซ่ารายปี (1 ปี) แล้ว ต้องทำ Re-entry Permit (ใบอนุญาตให้กลับเข้ามาในราชอาณาจักร) ก่อนเดินทางออกจากไทยทุกครั้ง

การทำ Re-entry Permit จะช่วยรักษาสิทธิ์ของวีซ่า Non-O เดิมเอาไว้ ทำให้เมื่อบินกลับเข้าไทย สามารถใช้สิทธิ์วีซ่าเดิมและนับระยะเวลาต่อได้ทันที (โดยวันหมดอายุของวีซ่ายังคงเป็นวันเดิม ไม่ได้ขยายเวลาเพิ่ม)

• แบบ Single (รายครั้ง) – ค่าธรรมเนียม 1,000 บาท
  • เหมาะสำหรับคนที่นานๆ จะเดินทางออกนอกประเทศที เช่น ตั้งใจจะกลับต่างประเทศปีละ 1–2 ครั้ง

• แบบ Multiple (ไม่จำกัดจำนวนครั้ง) – ค่าธรรมเนียม 3,800 บาท
  • เหมาะสำหรับคนที่เดินทางบ่อย (ออกนอกประเทศเกิน 4 ครั้งต่อปีขึ้นไป)
  • ข้อดี: ทำครั้งเดียวจบ สามารถเดินทางเข้า-ออกได้ไม่จำกัดตลอดอายุวีซ่า ไม่ต้องคอยแจ้งหรือระบุวันที่เดินทางออกล่วงหน้า สะดวกสบายกว่ามาก

สถานที่ยื่นคำขอ:

1. สำนักงานตรวจคนเข้าเมือง (ตม.) ใกล้บ้าน: แนะนำให้ทำพร้อมกับขั้นตอนยื่นขอต่ออายุวีซ่ารายปี (1 ปี) ไปเลยในคราวเดียว เพื่อป้องกันการลืม
2. ด่าน ตม. ที่สนามบิน: เช่น สนามบินสุวรรณภูมิ (ควรเผื่อเวลาล่วงหน้าก่อนขึ้นเครื่องอย่างน้อย 2–3 ชั่วโมง)

เอกสารที่ต้องเตรียม:

• หนังสือเดินทาง (Passport) ตัวจริง
• แบบฟอร์มคำขอ Re-entry Permit (ดาวน์โหลดล่วงหน้าจากเว็บไซต์ ตม. หรือรับที่หน้างาน)
• รูปถ่ายขนาด 4×6 ซม.
• สำเนาใบแจ้งการเข้าพักอาศัย (ตม.30)
• ใบ ตม.6 / TDAC
• ค่าธรรมเนียมตามประเภทที่เลือก

หากเดินทางออกจากประเทศไทยไปโดยไม่ได้ทำ Re-entry Permit ไว้ วีซ่า Non-O จะระงับทันที เมื่อบินกลับเข้ามาใหม่ เจ้าหน้าที่จะปั๊มเป็น “ฟรีวีซ่า (Visa Exemption)” หรือวีซ่านักท่องเที่ยวให้แทน

ส่งผลให้ไม่สามารถยื่นต่ออายุวีซ่ารายปีเดิมในไทยได้ และต้องเสียเวลาเริ่มต้นกระบวนการยื่นขอวีซ่า Non-O ใหม่อีกครั้งผ่านระบบ Thai E-Visa นอกประเทศไทย ดังนั้น หากมีแพลนบินไปต่างประเทศ แนะนำให้ทำ Re-entry Permit เตรียมไว้ตั้งแต่ตอนต่อวีซ่าเพื่อความอุ่นใจที่สุด

Normally, a foreign husband married to a Thai national will apply for a Non-O Visa (based on marriage) to live in Thailand.

The Risk: Once your husband enters Thailand using this visa, the entry right is used. If he leaves Thailand without proper preparation, the visa will expire immediately.

Important Restriction: The Non-O visa issued by Thai embassies or consulates abroad is typically a Single-Entry Visa.

If your husband needs to travel abroad while holding a Non-O visa (or after extending it for 1 year in Thailand), he must apply for a Re-entry Permit before leaving the country.

A Re-entry Permit protects his current Non-O status, allowing him to re-enter Thailand and keep using the remaining validity of his existing visa extension. (Note: A Re-entry Permit does not extend the visa’s expiration date; the original visa expiration date remains the same.)

Single Re-entry Permit — 1,000 THB

• Best for those who rarely travel out of Thailand (e.g., only 1–2 trips abroad per year).

Multiple Re-entry Permit — 3,800 THB

• Best for frequent travelers (more than 4 trips abroad per year).
• Benefit: You only need to apply once, and your husband can travel in and out unlimited times while the visa is valid, without having to specify departure dates each time.

1. Local Immigration Office: It is best to apply for the Re-entry Permit at the same time you apply for the 1-year visa extension. This ensures you don’t forget.
2. Airport Immigration: Available at international airports like Suvarnabhumi Airport (make sure to arrive 2–3 hours early to allow enough time).

Required Documents:

• Original Passport
• Re-entry Permit Application Form (downloaded from the Immigration website or obtained on-site)
• Passport photo (4×6 cm)
• Copy of TM.30 notification (Proof of Residence)
• Arrival card (TM.6/TDAC)

If your husband leaves Thailand without getting a Re-entry Permit, his Non-O visa will be canceled instantly. When he returns, immigration officers will stamp him in on a standard Visa Exemption (Tourist status) instead.

This means he will lose his year-long stay rights and will have to restart the entire Non-O visa application process from scratch outside Thailand via the Thai E-Visa system. To stay stress-free, it is highly recommended to get a Re-entry Permit done whenever you renew the yearly visa.
