1. กรณีฟรีวีซ่า 60 วัน + ต่อ 30 วัน (รวม 90 วัน)
(Visa Exemption 60 days + Extension 30 days (Total 90 days))
- การนับวันจะนับตามปีปฏิทิน คือตัดจำนวนวันภายใน 1 ม.ค. – 31 ธ.ค.
(The counting is based on the calendar year (January 1 – December 31))
- รอบแรกของปีปฏิทิน ฟรีวีซ่า 60 วัน ทำเรื่องขออยู่ต่อได้ที่สำนักงานตรวจคนเข้าเมืองใกล้บ้าน จ่ายค่าธรรมเนียม ก็สามารถอยู่ต่ออีก 30 วันทันทีได้เลยโดยไม่ออกจากไทย รวมเป็น 90 วัน แบบนี้เราเรียกเองว่า 1 รอบ
(First Round of the Calendar Year:
A visa-free entry allows a stay of 60 days. You can apply for an extension at the nearest Immigration Office, pay the fee, and immediately obtain an additional 30 days without leaving Thailand.
This makes a total of 90 days, which we call one round.)
- เมื่อครบ 90 วันรอบแรก จากนั้นก็ออกจากไทย แล้วเข้าใหม่ (บางคนแค่ไปปั๊มที่ด่านชายแดนเฉยๆ ขอไม่พูดเรื่องนั้นนะ) แต่ควรอยู่นอกไทยอย่างน้อย 3 วันขึ้นไป แล้วกลับเข้าไทยแบบฟรีวีซ่า อยู่ได้อีก 60 วัน และขออยู่ต่ออีก 30 วัน เหมือนรอบแรก รวม 90 วัน แบบนี้นับเป็นรอบที่ 2
(Second Round: After completing the first 90 days, you must leave Thailand. (Some people just do a quick border stamp, but let’s not discuss that here.)
It is recommended to stay outside Thailand for at least 3 days before re-entering on another visa-free entry. Again, you receive 60 days, plus you can extend 30 days, making another 90 days.
This is counted as the second round.)
- รวม 2 รอบ เป็น 180 วัน ถือว่าเต็มโควต้าแล้ว ใน 1 ปีปฏิทิน
(In total, 2 rounds = 180 days, which is considered the maximum quota allowed within one calendar year.)
- แบบนี้เรียก Visa Run หรือ Border Run ทำต่อเนื่อง ได้ไม่เกิน 2 รอบใน 1 ปีปฏิทิน แม้ในทางกฎหมายมีระบุห้าม แต่ในทางปฏิบัติจะเห็นเพื่อนๆต่างชาติทำได้ ผู้เดินทางต้องรับผิดชอบความเสี่ยงเอง
(Important: This practice is commonly referred to as a Visa Run or Border Run. Doing this continuously is allowed for no more than 2 rounds in a single calendar year. Although the law states it is prohibited, in practice you may see other foreigners doing it. However, travelers must take responsibility for the risks themselves.)
- หากเกิน 2 รอบข้างต้น แล้วเข้ามาเป็นรอบที่ 3 ในปีปฏิทินเดียวกัน ก็อาจถูกปฏิเสธการเข้าประเทศไทย
(If you attempt a 3rd round within the same calendar year, there is a high chance that you may be denied entry into Thailand.)

รอบแรก 60+30 = 90
รอบสอง 60+30 = 90
รวม 2 รอบ = 180 วัน ต่อ 1 ปีปฏิทิน
2. กรณีเข้าๆออกๆแค่ไม่กี่วันต่อครั้ง
(2. Multiple short stays (in and out for only a few days each time))
กรณีนี้เข้าๆออกๆ โดยไม่ได้ขออยู่ต่อ ไม่ได้อยู่เต็มรอบ ไม่เต็มโควต้า เช่น เข้าไทย อยู่ 7 วัน ออกนอกไทย 7 วัน แล้วกลับเข้ามาใหม่ แบบนี้เรื่อยๆ ก็เข้าออกได้เรื่อยๆ ไม่ได้จำกัด
(In this case, you enter and leave Thailand without applying for an extension and without using the full quota.
For example, you enter Thailand and stay for 7 days, then leave for 7 days, and come back again.
If you continue this pattern, you can keep entering and leaving repeatedly since it does not count as using the full quota.)
ถ้าต้องการอยู่ไทยมากกว่า 180 วัน ทำยังไง
(If you want to stay in Thailand for more than 180 days)
1. ขอวีซ่าท่องเที่ยว (TR visa) ก่อนเข้าไทย
(1. Apply for a Tourist Visa (TR visa) before entering Thailand)
- วีซ่าท่องเที่ยว 60 วัน ขออยู่ต่อ 30 วัน
(A Tourist Visa allows 60 days, and you can extend for another 30 days inside Thailand.) - จากนั้นต้องออกจากไทย แล้วทำวีซ่าท่องเที่ยวเข้ามาอีกก็ได้ หรือจะฟรีวีซ่าก็ได้ เช่น
(After that, you must leave Thailand. Then you can either apply for another Tourist Visa abroad or re-enter on a visa-free entry. For example:)
- รอบแรก วีซ่าท่องเที่ยว 60+30 = 90 (แล้วออกไทย)
(Round 1: Tourist Visa 60 + 30 = 90 days (then exit Thailand)) - รอบสอง ฟรีวีซ่า 60+30 = 90 (แล้วออกไทย)
(Round 2: Visa Exemption 60 + 30 = 90 days (then exit Thailand)) - รอบสาม ฟรีวีซ่า 60+30 = 90 (แล้วออกไทย)
(Round 3: Visa Exemption 60 + 30 = 90 days (then exit Thailand)) - รวมทั้งปีปฏิทิน อยู่ไทยได้ 9 เดือน
(In total, this allows you to stay in Thailand for up to 9 months in one calendar year.) - หรือถ้าจะสะดวกทำวีซ่าท่องเที่ยวเข้ามาอีกในปีเดียวกันก็ได้ แต่ในทางปฏิบัติคงไม่มีใครทำ เพราะการขอวีซ่าก่อนเข้าไทยต้องอยู่นอกไทย
(Alternatively, you could apply for another Tourist Visa again within the same year. However, in practice, most people don’t do this because a Tourist Visa must be obtained outside Thailand before entering.)
- รอบแรก วีซ่าท่องเที่ยว 60+30 = 90 (แล้วออกไทย)
2. ขอวีซ่า Non-O (ครอบครัว เกษียณ เรียน) ก่อนเข้าไทย
(2. Apply for a Non-O Visa (Family, Retirement, Education) before entering Thailand)
- วีซ่า Non-O ที่ขอก่อนเข้าไทยจะสามารถทำผ่านออนไลน์ได้ อยู่ได้เบื้องต้น 90 วัน
(A Non-O visa obtained before entering Thailand can be applied for online and initially allows a 90-day stay.) - พอเข้าไทยมาแล้วก็ค่อยติดต่อตม.ขออยู่ต่ออีก 1 ปีได้โดยไม่ต้องออกจากไทย
(After arriving in Thailand, you can then contact Immigration to extend your stay for 1 year without having to leave the country.)
3. เข้าไทยแบบฟรีวีซ่า แล้วขอเปลี่ยนวีซ่าในไทย
(Enter Thailand on a Visa Exemption and then apply to change visa inside Thailand)
- เข้าไทยฟรีวีซ่า 60 + 30 = 90 วัน
(Enter Thailand visa-free: 60 + 30 = 90 days.) - ก่อนที่ฟรีวีซ่าจะหมดอายุ 1 เดือน ก็ติดต่อตม.ขอเปลี่ยนวีซ่าจากฟรีวีซ่า(วีซ่าท่องเที่ยว) เป็นวีซ่า Non-O (ครอบครัว เกษียณ เรียน)
(Before the visa exemption expires (about 1 month in advance), you can contact Immigration to change your status from a Visa Exemption (tourist stay) to a Non-O visa (Family, Retirement, Education)) - แต่ระวังว่า การขอเปลี่ยนเป็นวีซ่า Non-O ในไทย ต้องมีบัญชีไทย ถ้าใครที่ไม่มีบัญชีไทย แล้วเข้ามาแบบฟรีวีซ่า จะไม่สามารถเปิดบัญชีไทยได้ เพราะธนาคารจะขอดูวีซ่า Non-O ก่อนถึงจะอนุญาตให้เปิดบัญชีได้
(Important: To change to a Non-O visa inside Thailand, you must have a Thai bank account.
If you enter on a visa exemption, you normally cannot open a Thai bank account, since banks usually require a Non-O visa in order to allow account opening.) - หากไม่มีบัญชีไทย แนะนำให้ทำวีซ่าก่อนเข้าไทยทางออนไลน์มาก่อน เพราะใช้บัญชีต่างประเทศในการยื่นขอวีซ่าทางออนไลน์
(Therefore, if you don’t already have a Thai bank account, it’s recommended to apply for a Non-O visa online before entering Thailand, as you can use your foreign bank account when applying online.)
