- อายุวีซ่า: เป็นแบบ Multiple Entry มีอายุ 5 ปี สามารถเดินทางเข้าออกประเทศไทยได้ไม่จำกัดจำนวนครั้ง(ภายใน 5 ปี)
- การขออยู่ต่อ: สามารถขออยู่ต่อในประเทศไทยได้อีกครั้งละ 180 วันต่อปี โดยไม่ต้องเดินทางออกนอกประเทศ
- ความยืดหยุ่นในการพำนัก:
- กรณีเข้าออกบ่อย: เมื่อเดินทางออกนอกประเทศแล้วกลับเข้ามาใหม่ จะนับระยะเวลา 180 วันให้ใหม่ ทำได้ต่อเนื่องจนครบ 5 ปี
- กรณีอยู่ยาว: สามารถอยู่ติดต่อกันได้ 180 + 180 = 360 วัน โดยไม่ต้องออกนอกประเทศ แต่เมื่อครบแล้วต้องเดินทางออกนอกประเทศก่อน แล้วจึงกลับเข้ามาเพื่อเริ่มต้นนับ 180 วันใหม่

- ความเข้าใจในวงกว้าง: เนื่องจากเป็นวีซ่าประเภทใหม่ ข้อมูลอาจจะยังไม่แพร่หลาย ทำให้ชาวต่างชาติบางส่วนอาจยังไม่เข้าใจในรายละเอียด
- หลักฐานการทำงาน: ต้องแสดงหลักฐานการทำงานจาก ต่างประเทศเท่านั้น ไม่สามารถใช้เงินบำนาญหรือเงินเกษียณในการยื่นขอได้ ซึ่งอาจเป็นข้อจำกัดสำหรับกลุ่มผู้สูงอายุที่เกษียณแล้ว

- This can be repeated throughout the full 5 years.
- Long continuous stay:
- You may stay 180 days + an additional 180-day extension, totaling 360 days without leaving Thailand.
- After this, you must leave the country and re-enter to reset another 180-day period.
- This cycle can continue for up to 5 years.

1. Limited public understanding
- As this is a new visa category, many foreigners are not yet familiar with the details.
2. Proof of Employment
- You must show proof of employment or business from abroad only.
- Pension or retirement income cannot be used.
- This limits eligibility for retirees.
3. Financial Requirement
- You must show a bank balance of at least 500,000 THB, in either a Thai or foreign account.
- This can be difficult for younger applicants who do not have large savings.
4. Application Location
- You cannot convert to this visa from inside Thailand.
- The DTV visa must be applied for outside Thailand, either at a Thai embassy/consulate or via the online e-Visa system.
Today, DTV visa approval is much stricter than when the visa was first introduced. If your work cannot genuinely be done remotely, approval can be difficult. Embassies may request different supporting documents on a case-by-case basis, and you may need to provide additional evidence until they are satisfied that you qualify.
