หลายคนเข้าใจผิดว่า “จดทะเบียนสมรสที่ต่างประเทศแล้ว ก็ถือว่าจบ ย้ายมาอยู่ไทยได้เลย” หรือ “กลับมาจดทะเบียนสมรสซ้ำที่ไทยอีกรอบได้”
❌ ความจริงคือ: คุณไม่สามารถจดทะเบียนสมรสซ้ำในไทยได้ และการสมรสที่ต่างประเทศจะยัง ไม่มีผลตามกฎหมายไทย จนกว่าคุณจะไปทำเอกสารที่เรียกว่า “คร.22” (ทะเบียนฐานะแห่งครอบครัว)
ปัจจุบัน หน่วยงานราชการไทย ธนาคาร และสำนักงานตรวจคนเข้าเมือง (ตม.) บังคับให้ใช้ ทะเบียนสมรสต่างประเทศ ควบคู่กับ ใบ คร.22 เสมอ โดยเฉพาะคนที่ขอ วีซ่าแต่งงาน (Non-O) หากไม่มี คร.22 จะไม่สามารถเปิดบัญชีธนาคารเพื่อโชว์เงินฝาก หรือยื่นขออยู่ต่อได้ทันเวลา จนทำให้วีซ่าหลุดได้เลย!
3 ขั้นตอนสำคัญ เปลี่ยนทะเบียนสมรสต่างชาติ ให้มีผลในไทย
⬩➤ 1. รับรองเอกสารตัวจริง
(จากประเทศต้นทาง)
✅ นำทะเบียนสมรสต่างประเทศ และพาสปอร์ตของแฟนชาวต่างชาติ ไปให้กระทรวงการต่างประเทศของประเทศนั้นๆ รับรองความถูกต้อง
✅ จากนั้น นำไปให้ สถานทูตไทย ในประเทศนั้นรับรองซ้ำอีกครั้ง
💡 แนะนำอย่างยิ่ง: ให้ทำขั้นตอนนี้ตั้งแต่อยู่ต่างประเทศ (ช่วงที่รอวีซ่าออนไลน์) เพราะถ้าบินมาทำในไทยจะเสียเวลาจองคิวและเดินเรื่องนานมาก (ใบรับรองมีอายุประมาณ 6 เดือน อย่าทำล่วงหน้านานเกินไป)
⬩➤ 2. แปลเป็นภาษาไทย
เนื่องจากอำเภอไทยรับเฉพาะเอกสารภาษาไทยเท่านั้น จึงต้องนำเอกสารที่รับรองแล้วทั้งหมดมาแปลเป็นภาษาไทยให้ถูกต้องครบถ้วน
⬩➤ 3. รับรองคำแปลในไทย
นำเอกสารที่แปลเป็นภาษาไทยแล้ว ไปยื่นให้ กรมการกงสุล (ในประเทศไทย) ตรวจสอบและประทับรับรองคำแปลอีกครั้ง
เมื่อครบ 3 ขั้นตอนนี้แล้ว จึงจะสามารถนำเอกสารทั้งหมดไปยื่นขอ ใบ คร.22 ที่ที่ว่าการอำเภอหรือสำนักงานเขตในไทยได้สำเร็จ
⬩➤ 4. ยื่นทำใบ คร.22 ที่สำนักงานเขตหรืออำเภอ
เมื่อได้เอกสารที่ผ่านการรับรองคำแปลจากกรมการกงสุลแล้ว ให้ลองติดต่อสอบถามสำนักงานเขตหรืออำเภอใกล้บ้านว่าจำเป็นต้องนัดหมายคิวล่วงหน้าหรือไม่
จากนั้นเดินทางไปยื่นเรื่องขอทำใบ คร.22 ที่อำเภอ/เขต ใช้เวลาไม่นานก็จะได้ใบ คร.22 ซึ่งเป็นตารางภาษาไทยมาไว้ใช้งาน
⬩➤ การนำไปใช้งานต่อ
- เปิดบัญชีธนาคาร: นำใบ คร.22 ไปใช้เปิดบัญชีธนาคารในไทย แล้วทำการโอนเงินเข้าตามหลักเกณฑ์
- ยื่นขออยู่ต่อ (ตม.): เมื่อฝากเงินครบ 2 เดือน ก็นำเอกสารไปยื่นขออยู่ต่อกับ ตม. โดยเอกสารชุดสมรสที่ต้องยื่นขนานกัน ได้แก่:
- สำเนาทะเบียนสมรสต่างประเทศตัวจริง
- ฉบับแปลภาษาไทยที่รับรองแล้ว
- ใบ คร.22

The 3 Essential Steps to Make Your Foreign Marriage Legal in Thailand
Before you can head to a local Thai district office (Amphur) to get your Khor.Rhor.22, your documents must go through this 3-step legalization process:
⬩➤ 1. Legalization of Original Documents ▼
✅ Take your foreign marriage certificate and your foreign spouse’s passport to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (or the designated authority) in that country to to have them legalized.
✅ Next, have those documents authenticated again by the Royal Thai Embassy or Consulate in that country.
💡 Pro-Tip: It is highly recommended to do this while you are still abroad (e.g., while waiting for your online visa approval). Doing this after arriving in Thailand can lead to massive delays with embassy bookings and document processing. (Note: legalized documents are usually valid for about 6 months, so don’t do it too far in advance).

Since Thai district offices only accept documents in the Thai language, you must have all authenticated English/foreign documents translated into Thai accurately.

Take the Thai-translated documents to the Department of Consular Affairs (in Thailand) to have the translations officially certified and stamped.
Once you have completed all 3 steps, you can finally bring the entire document package to any Thai District Office (Amphur or Khet) to apply for your Khor.Rhor.22.
⬩➤ 4. Apply for the Khor.Rhor.22. Form at a District Office or Amphoe
Once you have the translated documents certified by the Department of Consular Affairs, contact your local district office (Amphoe or Khet) to ask if you need to book an appointment in advance.
Then, go to the district office to submit your application for the Khor.Rhor.22. form. It usually doesn’t take long to get your Khor.Rhor.22. form, which comes as a table format in Thai.

- Opening a Bank Account: Bring your Khor.Rhor.22. form to open a Thai bank account and transfer funds according to the requirements.
- Applying for a Visa Extension (Immigration): After the money has been deposited in your bank account for 2 full months, submit your documents to Immigration to apply for your stay extension. The marriage document set you must submit together includes:
- A copy of the original foreign marriage certificate
- The certified Thai translation
- The Khor.Rhor.22. form
